Good evening everyone,
We hope that everyone had a great weekend, and a good start to your work week.
We experienced 35 consecutive hours with temps below zero! The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Advisory that will remain in effect until 9am Wednesday. We will see extremely cold wind chills overnight, as low as 20-30 degrees below zero. This can cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes, so please take caution when venturing outside.
As temperatures drop to bitter cold levels, we want to remind our customers to take precautions to prevent their pipes from freezing. Freezing pipes can cause significant damage to your home and lead to costly repairs. To avoid this, we recommend keeping your home heated to at least 55 degrees Fahrenheit, leaving cabinet doors open to allow warm air to circulate around pipes, and insulating any exposed pipes. If your sink is on an outside wall, consider letting the faucet drip lightly to keep water circulating, and relieve any pressure in the system. If you suspect that your pipes have frozen, it is important to act quickly and turn off your water supply to prevent further damage. Our crews are always available to help with any emergency repairs!
